Yarns and Things
This all started from a project at work! I work for a Center for Independent Living in south central Michigan...Jackson to be exact! I am located an hour or less from Toledo, OH., Kalamazoo, Lansing, Ann Arbor, MI. and a little over an hour from Grand Rapids!
I have been conducting a twice monthly games and crafts day for a few years and see lots of creative talent in the consumers that come! I also have an interest in the growing arts and culture scene here in Jackson and feel that the disability community needs to be involved! I'm also out and about in the community and have made connections to wonderful people and organizations!
After being involved in a local arts display featuring artists with disabilities I was encouraged to try my hand at selling my creations!
I have been knitting for years and the last few years have begun designing jewelry, greeting cards, and floral arrangements!
All my jewelry pieces feature fiber art beads and/ or polymer clay elements. My cards are all hand assembled and feature many hand made elements. My knitted items are all fashioned from a variety of novelty yarns with simple stitches to let the beauty of the yarn shine through! I love to create floral wreaths with unexpected touches that are out of the box!
You can also find my creations listed on ETSY.com. I am listed with the Jackson County Arts and Cultural Alliance and I'm a board member with the Jackson Civic Art Association.
